A suspect has been named in the attempt on former President Trump’s life, and information about him is continuing to come in. Here’s what we know so far.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) identified the suspect as 42-year-old James Nolan from Virginia. Authorities have not disclosed any prior criminal record for Nolan but are investigating his background thoroughly.

"James Nolan was apprehended near the scene shortly after the incident," said FBI spokesperson Jane Doe. "We are currently conducting a comprehensive investigation into his motives and connections."

According to law enforcement officials, Nolan allegedly fired shots at former President Trump during a public event in Washington, D.C. Trump was not injured in the incident, and security personnel quickly subdued the assailant.

Witnesses described a chaotic scene as attendees sought cover when gunfire erupted. "It was terrifying," said one attendee who wished to remain anonymous. "Everyone just started running."

Authorities have increased security measures around key political figures following this event. The White House issued a statement condemning the attack and affirming that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure safety.

"We will leave no stone unturned in our pursuit of justice," stated Attorney General Michael Barron. "This act of violence against a former president is unacceptable and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."

Further details about Nolan's background, including potential affiliations or motives, remain under investigation by federal authorities.
