In a recent newsletter, Representative Miller shared various updates and information with constituents. One highlight included National American Eagle Day, emphasizing the importance of the bald eagle in American culture and conservation efforts. "National American Eagle Day honors our national symbol and raises awareness for protecting bald eagles," stated Rep. Miller. Illinois boasts a significant population of bald eagles, with over 3,100 residing in the state during winter months.

Miller also commented on House Bill 5290, sponsored by State Senator Mike Simmons (D-Chicago), which aims to alleviate medical debt for over 300,000 Illinois residents through the creation of the Medical Debt Relief Pilot Program Fund. Miller criticized this initiative, saying, "Democrats’ knee-jerk solution for just about everything is to soak hardworking taxpayers to foot the bill."

The newsletter addressed issues surrounding school choice and public education. Miller expressed disapproval of Illinois legislators' decision to end the Invest In Kids program, which provided opportunities for low-income students. Additionally, concerns were raised about public school curriculums lacking oversight and potentially promoting personal agendas.

A legal challenge involving Illinois Democrats was also mentioned. Sangamon County Judge Gail Noll recently struck down an attempt by Democrats to change election laws mid-cycle to prevent political parties from appointing candidates after primary elections.

Technology-related legislative developments were discussed as well. House Bill 4592 would allow digital ID cards and driver's licenses stored on smartphones if signed into law. Opponents argue this could lead to privacy issues during interactions with law enforcement.

Lastly, resources for staying cool during summer in Illinois were provided via a state website offering tips on efficient cooling methods.

Rep. Miller's office remains available to assist constituents with any state agency interactions at their Charleston location.
