State Representative Chris Miller (R-Hindsboro) released a statement following the passage of the $53.1 billion state budget through the General Assembly.

“This so-called balanced budget crafted by radical Democrats behind closed doors is $2.6 billion more than last year’s budget. The hungry spending spree continues, and the mission is to improve the quality of life for illegal immigrants at the expense of hard-working American families across Illinois. Taxpayers are left behind again by Pritzker & Co at a time when goods and services are at an all-time high. The Biden administration is failing our country, and Pritzker is failing our state because he’s a denier and cares more about playing political games than creating a better life for Illinois residents.”

“The Governor has more power to transfer funds from their intended purposes to hide his progressive agenda of spending nearly $1 billion on creating a welfare state, universal healthcare, and socialist policies. Republicans have prioritized tax relief, reduced spending, improving public safety, and putting Illinois residents first but the radical Democrats have one priority and that’s ruining our great state with poor public policies and using taxpayers as an ATM.”

For more information, please contact Rep. Miller’s office at (217) 508-4108.

Representative Chris Miller serves the constituents of Illinois’ 101st House District that includes parts of Coles County, including portions of Champaign, Douglas, and Vermilion Counties along the I-57 corridor.
