House Republicans have proposed legislation aimed at addressing key issues for Illinois residents, contrasting with recent measures passed by progressive Democrats. According to Republican representatives, the new bills seek to improve public safety, literacy, economic opportunities, support for women, and protection for children.

Republicans argue that while Democrats focus on new programs and taxes, their proposals remain unaddressed. They call upon Speaker Welch to consider their legislation designed to meet the needs of Illinois citizens.

**Improving Public Safety**

The Truth in Public Safety (TIPS) working group has introduced measures after discussions with crime victim advocates and law enforcement professionals. The legislation focuses on protecting crime victims, retaining and recruiting law enforcement officers, and ensuring pre-trial fairness applies universally.

**Literacy Improves Future Endeavors**

The Literacy Improves Future Endeavors (LIFE) working group aims to enhance literacy rates and educational outcomes for all students in Illinois.

**Reigniting Illinois’ Strong Economy**

The Reigniting Illinois’ Strong Economy (RISE) working group is focused on improving the business climate within the state. Proposed legislation seeks to stimulate growth and foster a brighter economic future.

**Supporting Women and Families**

Legislation developed by the Supporting Women and Families working group aims to improve healthcare services for women and families across Illinois.

**Sustaining & Protecting At-Risk Kids**

Efforts from the Sustaining & Protecting At-Risk Kids (SPARK) working group are directed towards improving outcomes for at-risk youth through targeted legislative measures.

Representative Miller has emphasized the importance of constituent feedback through a 2024 district survey. "Your voice makes a difference," said Rep. Miller. "It’s important to me that I hear from you on the issues we currently have in Illinois."

Residents are encouraged to participate in the survey to inform legislative decisions moving forward.
