State Representative Niemerg recently acknowledged the commendable efforts of firefighters from Montrose and Teutopolis. These first responders were recognized for their tireless work in mitigating the disastrous effects of an anhydrous ammonia truck crash that occurred near Teutopolis last September.
In his statement, Rep. Niemerg expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thank you to the many first responders who worked hard to minimize the tragic impact of the anhydrous ammonia truck crash last September near my hometown of Teutopolis." He went on to extend a special thanks to the firefighters from Montrose and Teutopolis who were awarded the "Medal of Honor" by the State of Illinois on Tuesday.
