Dolton, Ill. (ECWd) –We recently published the Del Galdo Law Group (Dolton’s legal firm) Motion to Withdraw on one of our FOIA lawsuits against the village of Dolton. We have now obtained a copy of the three-page letter from Del Galdo to Mayor Tiffany Henyard and the Village of Dolton Trustees, which, while not surprising, is fairly damning, and shows how far down an out-of-control Mayor can drag one village while prosecutors appear to slow-walk any accountability.
In the letter, an unnamed source from Del Galdo Law Group stated, "We believe Del Galdo should have demanded, as a condition of their representation, that Mayor Tiffany Henyard reign in her abusive and alleged criminal conduct long ago." The source further added, "Strong admonition from her own attorneys might have stopped her from dragging the village down as far as she has in the past couple of years."
The stance taken by the law firm highlights the serious concerns surrounding Mayor Henyard's behavior and its impact on the village of Dolton. The refusal to represent the village underscores the challenges faced when local leadership is perceived to be engaging in abusive or criminal conduct.
The situation in Dolton serves as a stark reminder of the importance of accountability and ethical governance in local administration. As the village navigates these complexities, the decision by Dolton’s law firm to distance themselves from the ongoing legal matters sheds light on the gravity of the issues at hand.
Efforts to address the ramifications of Mayor Henyard's actions and to uphold the integrity of the village remain ongoing, as stakeholders assess the path forward in ensuring a stable and accountable leadership for the community.
