Dolton, Ill. (ECWd) – Mayor Tiffany Henyard’s right-hand-man, Keith Freeman, appeared in federal court on April 24, 2024, and pleaded Not Guilty to the federal indictment of bankruptcy fraud. Freeman's Bond was set at $4500 (unsecured). The conditions of his release are currently sealed in the federal docket.

According to the document, Freeman's initial appearance and arraignment were held on April 24, 2024, where he was represented by counsel. The government informed Freeman of the charges against him, and he entered a plea of not guilty to the indictment. Both parties agreed to certain conditions of release, with a Rule 16.1(a) conference scheduled for May 6, 2024. A status hearing before the assigned District Judge is set for June 5, 2024, at 10:30 a.m.

The court also emphasized the importance of compliance with obligations under Brady v. Maryland, stating that favorable evidence under Brady includes both exculpatory and impeaching evidence. Failure to produce such evidence in a timely manner may lead to sanctions. Additionally, the government's motion to exclude time was granted for reasons discussed in court, with the time until the next status hearing being excluded in the interest of justice.

The specifics of Keith Freeman's release conditions remain undisclosed at this time.
