State Representative Blaine Wilhour (R-Beecher City) has announced the revival of the Senior Fair after a three-year suspension due to Covid-19 restrictions. The event, scheduled for April 23, 2024, at the Salem Community Activities Center, will feature nearly 40 local, regional, and state programs, community organizations, businesses, and services catered to senior citizens.

"I am pleased to say we are able to offer this very popular event once again to the seniors in my district," Rep. Wilhour expressed. "This annual event helps older constituents connect with health services, learn about programs tailored to an older clientele, and hopefully help them improve their quality of life through programs to keep them active and healthy for many years to come."

Local programs and service providers, including the Bryan-Bennett Library, Bandy’s Pharmacy & Home Medical, Salem Travel, and various health and rehabilitation organizations, will be present at the fair. Regional groups such as the Midland Area Agency on Aging, the Honor Flight program for U.S. Military Veterans, as well as State of Illinois representatives for the Department of Veterans Affairs and the I-CASH program, will also participate.

Attendees can avail themselves of FREE blood pressure and eye screenings, discounted lab vouchers, spinal screenings, and SSM Health Cancer Care colon FIT kits. Additionally, complimentary refreshments will be served, and door prizes will be available for participants.

For more information, constituents are encouraged to contact the district office at 618-665-4109 or visit RepWilhour.com.
