Village of Arthur Police Committee met Feb. 28.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

A meeting of the Police Committee of the Village of Arthur, IL, was held on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. Committee Member Isai Gutierrez called the meeting to order at 6:00 P.M. Roll call was answered by Committee Members Rod Randall, and Gutierrez. Village Trustees, Matt Bernius, Michael Hilgenberg, and Christy Miller were present. Committee Member Dave Tiffan was absent. Chief Michael Goodman and Sgt. Elliott Tinnon were also present. No Public Comment was heard. There was no unfinished business.

Committee Member, Gutierrez, called on Chief Goodman to present information, under New Business Item 1, Discussion concerning the hiring of Police Department personnel. Goodman presented information regarding the need to hire two candidates for the position of Police Officer, as he intends to retire within the next fiscal year. Chief Goodman and Sgt. Tinnon presented information on two candidates for the position of police officer. Candidate Christopher Landrus and Candidate Beau Jones were then presented to the Police Committee. Each candidate spoke to the Committee about themselves and then answered questions from Committee members and attending Village Trustees.

Committee Member Gutierrez asked the Committee Members if there was any general discussion, and there was none at this time.

Committee member Gutierrez made a motion to adjourn; Randall seconded. Committee Member, Gutierrez adjourned the meeting at 7:12 P.M.
