Illinois residents are gearing up for Primary Election Day on March 19, 2024. The upcoming election will offer voters a chance to have their voices heard on various levels of government, from presidential nominees to local officials and everything in between.

As the Illinois State Board of Elections reminds voters, the polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day. Each voter will have the opportunity to receive instructions on using the voting equipment, ensuring a smooth voting process for all.

For voters who may require assistance, whether due to disabilities or other reasons, help will be available from election judges or a person of their choice. Additionally, those with active voter registrations at their current residence will receive a full ballot tailored to their address.

In the event that a voter's name is not on the official voter list or if their vote is challenged, they can still cast a provisional ballot, with the ability to later verify its status.

Furthermore, candidates, political parties, and civic organizations have the right to appoint pollwatchers to oversee polling place procedures, while voters themselves are encouraged to report any suspicious activities that could jeopardize the integrity of the election process.

As Illinois voters prepare to cast their ballots in the upcoming Primary Election, being informed about voting rights, procedures, and available assistance is crucial to ensuring a fair and transparent electoral process.
