State Representative Brad Halbrook has called on Governor Pritzker to provide transparency on taxpayer spending for illegal aliens and non-citizen care. Despite the governor declaring a disaster over the influx of migrants, little useful information has been received regarding the allocation of funds.

Halbrook expressed his frustration, stating, "The lack of transparency is appalling. Governor Pritzker already plans on spending $1.5 billion dollars on illegals and non-citizens, and his people won't tell us where the money is going."

According to the limited data available, over $700 million has already been designated for migrants, funds that were originally intended for assistance to Illinoisans. Additionally, an estimated $831 million is projected to be spent on non-citizen healthcare, exceeding the authorized budget by $281 million. The allocation for non-citizen healthcare was a subject of intense debate among Democrats.

Halbrook emphasized the need for specific information on the costs and recipients of these funds, stating, "If this migrant issue is important enough for the Governor to file his 18th disaster declaration over it, then it is important enough to give us specific information about the costs – how much and who's getting the money."

The representative further highlighted the concerns of his constituents, who are growing increasingly frustrated with politicians spending taxpayer money on individuals who break the law. Halbrook emphasized that Illinoisans from all political backgrounds oppose the Democrat open border agenda and are now concerned about the hidden costs.
