ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS

Principal PK-8 Report - Morgan Wilhoit

  • Our social media post with PIP's field trip to the Prairie was picked up and shared on the Illinois Parents as Teachers website.
  • PIP was honored at the International Parents as Teachers Conference for their Blue Ribbon status.
  • PIP-5th Pumpkin Palooza had about 188 attendees.
  • IL Report Card update - see PowerPoint
  • We have restructured our MTSS meetings for elementary and junior high and it has allowed us to be able to really dig deeper into the specific interventions that students need. We are doing so by having individual teachers meet with the MTSS team - Mrs. Brinkley, Mrs. Clodfelder, Mrs. Young, Mrs. Titus, Mrs. Honemann, and myself. If a teacher has a student with academic or behavioral concern, they fill out the GoogleForm and I arrange the time to meet.
  • Discipline meetings have been going really well. Teachers are very pleased with the way things are going in PK- 8. Students continue to surprise me with keeping track of their logs and knowing when they need to serve a detention, usually before I know. I am very proud of our consistency. - 433 behavior logs and 56 discipline incidents for Junior high, 219 behavior logs and 23 discipline incidents for elementary
  • Conferences were well attended this year. We had all slots filled for junior high and each parent attended. Elementary did a great job managing all of the new students with conferences. Some even met at additional times to make sure everyone was accounted for. Thank you to PTO for providing food for both nights of conferences!!
  • Jr. Beta induction was on the 13th. The team was pretty selective this year and had 19 teachers vote on students.
  • Elementary has had 46 move-ins and junior high has had 7 so far this semester.
  • Elementary family reading night was on the 15th - 187 people attended.
  • Junior high took a field trip on the 15th to the U of I women's basketball game. Students had a blast and were very well behaved. Four students stayed back.
  • I have attended all special education webinars on state reporting (Harrisburg Project) and have been in regular contact with EIASE to keep up with all of our numbers for this school year.
Principal 9-12 Report - Amy Jones

  • Illinois Report card data: designated as commendable
  • Herff Jones met with students to take measurements for cap and gown in addition to any extra memorable students may wish to acquire. Cap gown sizes are needed by end of the year in order for them to be here in time for graduation
  • 66 students made the Honor Roll 1st quarter; this is equivalent to numbers previous years
  • Annual Life Safety Walk was October 7 with ROE11, nothing major needs to be addressed, Lonnie is aware of corrections
  • Pam Harper is doing SAT and PSAT for math tutoring twice a week, roughly 10 students are showing up on average
  • Amy McClain is going to start SAT/PSAT tutoring for ELA here in the next few weeks, times TBD
  • High school team would like to recognize students who score over over 1,000 on their SAT to be recognized at graduation; Megan Evans will continue to meet with Jrs on their PSAT scores and goals
  • Veterans Day Assembly was hosted by NHS
  • Meet the Titans was November 11 to introduce winter sports
  • LPC meeting was held November 15, may have changes coming to football and scheduling next year
  • In contact with EIU and Parkland for dual credit classes next semester
  • HS blitz day was November 16
  • 1st semester Rewards for positive behavior and grades will be Monday December 11 at Old Orchard Lanes with bowling and pizza
  • Food baskets with Student Council will begin 2nd week in December
