City of Arcola City Council met Oct. 2.
Here are the minutes provided by the council:
Mayor Garza called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Members present were Alderpersons Henson, Becerra, Budd and Hensley. Alderpersons Helmuth and Foran were not present. City Administrator Wagoner, Treasurer Anderson and Attorney Bequette were also present.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Alderman Henson led the council and audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.
PUBLIC COMMENT There was none.
APPROVAL OF SEPTEMBER 18, 2023 COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES Alderman Henson moved to approve the September 18, 2023 council meeting Minutes as presented and was seconded by Alderman Budd. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF SEPTEMBER 16, 2023 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 29, 2023 BILLS Alderman Hensley moved to approve the September 16, 2023 – September 29, 2023 bills as presented and was seconded by Alderman Becerra. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF THE TREASURER’S REPORT FOR SEPTEMBER 2023 Alderman Becerra moved to approve the Treasurer’s report for September 2023 and was seconded by Alderman Budd. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF THE SEPTEMBER ZONING OFFICER’S REPORT The Zoning Officer reported no permits issued in the month of September.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE ORDINANCE NO. 23-S-7, TIF REDEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT WITH WHITNEY MOODY/DISTILL FITNESS – 20% REBATE Alderman Henson moved to approve Ordinance No. 23-S-7, TIF Redevelopment Agreement with Whitney Moody/Distill Fitness – 20% rebate, not to exceed $25,000. Alderman Hensley seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE ORDINANCE NO. 23-S-8, TIF REDEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT WITH THE ARCOLA FOOD PANTRY – GRANT Alderman Budd moved to approve Ordinance No. 23-S-8, TIF Redevelopment Agreement with the Arcola Food Pantry – Grant with conditions explained by Attorney Bequette. Alderman Henson seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE PAY REQUEST NO. 1, SCHROCK DRIVE RECONSTRUCTION This has been tabled at this time.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Alderman Henson Had nothing at this time.
Alderman Becerra Had nothing at this time.
Alderman Budd Had nothing at this time.
Alderman Hensley Reported the Municipal Building & Grounds Committee met prior to this meeting and received an update on the Broom Palace from Pat Monahan.
Also was told by CA Wagoner that the splash pad equipment has all been taken down for the winter.
A storage shed has been ordered to place in park to store equipment.
As this concluded the business of the meeting, Alderman Becerra moved to adjourn and was seconded by Alderman Henson. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
