Minutes – Regular Meeting

Attendance: Mayor Herman Davidson, Clerk‐ Christy Perisho, City Attorney Richard Bernardoni

Visitors: Dan Kibler‐Marshall Advocate, Linda VonBehren, Donnell Wolfe, Norma Calvert

Meeting called to order by Mayor Davidson at 7:30 PM. All in attendance recited the “Pledge of Allegiance.”

‐‐Motion by A. Whilhoit, 2nd by C. Davidson to approve the 08913/2023 regular Council Meeting Minutes. Record Vote:

‐‐Motion by C. Davidson, 2nd by C. Perry to have Sheena‐ City Collector, appoint part‐time Deputy City Collector. Record Vote:

‐‐Motion by A. Wilhoit, 2nd by C. Perry to approve Trick‐or‐Treat night be October 27th, 5‐7 PM. Record Vote:

‐‐Discussed Martinsville on the Move renting old City office building for Changing Hands. Decided to prepare a lease, and approve at next meeting, if agreeable.

‐‐Discussed adding electric, east of York Street, on Cumberland Street. Gathering information on meters.

‐‐Motion by C. Perry, 2nd by B. Lovell to accept bid by Tally Automotive for new transmission for water utility truck. Record Vote:

Council Comments:

Herman‐ Letter regarding Ankur Rungta’s purchase of ground north of interstate.

C. Davidson‐ discussion regarding new truck stop.

C. Perry‐ requesting public to send letters to help get produce in Dollar General.

S. Pendleton‐ Set time for Building Committee meeting.

Set for Tuesday, October 3rd, at 7 PM.

Mr. Bernardoni‐ clarifying ordinance enforcement, and that he will need witnesses to testify to enforce any ordinances.

‐‐Motion by C. Perry, 2nd by A. Wilhoit to close the meeting.

Meeting closed 8:17 PM.
