Shelbyville Community Unit School District 4 had the highest enrollment among Shelby County districts, welcoming 1,212 students during the 2021-22 school year, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 52% of them were boys, and 48% were girls.

Data also showed that the majority of students were white, making up 95.6% of the Shelbyville Community Unit School District 4's total enrollment.

Among the five districts in Shelby County, Central A & M Community Unit School District 21 ranked second in enrollment numbers with 694 students, while Stewardson-Strasburg Community Unit School District 5A welcomed 401 students and ranked third in the 2021-22 school year.

In the previous school year, Shelbyville Community Unit School District 4 also had the highest number of students among Shelby County districts.
