There were 2,503 white students enrolled in Mattoon Community Unit School District 2 in the 2021-22 school year, 0.7% more than the previous year, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

Data showed that Mattoon Community Unit School District 2 welcomed 3,403 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, white students comprised 81.8% of the student body to be the most represented ethnicity in the district.

Among the five schools in Mattoon Community Unit School District 2, Mattoon High School recorded the highest enrollment of white students in the 2021-22 school year, with a total of 808 students.
