Village of Arthur Police Committee met April 10.

A meeting of the Police Committee of the Village of Arthur, IL, was held on Monday, April 10, 2023. Chairman Dave Tiffan called the meeting to order at 6:36 P.M. Roll call was answered by Committee Members Dave Tiffan and Rod Randall. Village Trustees, Jim Fleming, Matt Bernius and Christy Miller were present. Chief Michael Goodman was also present. No Public Comment was heard. There was no unfinished business. 

Committee Chairman, Tiffan, called on Chief Goodman to present information, under New Business Item 1, Discussion concerning police body camera proposal. Goodman presented information regarding a proposal for the purchase of body cameras based on a quote from Motorola and Beck Tech. The quote was discussed, which presented an overall projected expenditure of $50,000.00, to be spread out over a five-year contract, and included ten body cameras, hardware, software and cloud storage of the video. Motorola was quoted due to compatibility with the Department's current in-car camera systems. 

Committee Chairman Tiffan next called for item 2., Discussion FY 2023-2024 Police Department budget. Chief Goodman presented information regarding the proposed police Department budget for FY 2023-2024 and answered questions regarding the proposed budget. The overall proposed budget for FY 2023-2024, as presented, is $511,707.00, which is up 4.68% from last year's FY budget of $487,768.00, or an increase of $23,939.00. 

Committee Chairman Tiffan asked the Committee Members if there was any general discussion, and there was none at this time. 

Trustee Miller made a motion to adjourn; Randall seconded. Committee Chair, Dave Tiffan adjourned the meeting at 7:01P.M.
