City of Casey City Council met April 3.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

The Regular Meeting of the City Council was held Monday April 3rd, 2023; beginning at 6:00 p.m. Mayor Mike Nichols was present and called the meeting to order. Adam Henderson led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Roll Call:

Present: Alderman Jenkins

Alderman Mumford

Alderman Richardson

Alderman Williams

Alderman Wilson

Absent: Alderman Ruffner

A quorum was declared.

Public Forum:

None

Community Affairs:

None

Meeting Minutes:

Mayor Nichols looked for approval of the minutes of the March 20th, 2023 City Council Meeting.

Alderman Mumford motioned approval of the minutes of the March 20th, 2023 City Council Meeting, seconded by Alderman Wilson. Upon roll call the vote was:

Ayes: 5 – Williams, Wilson, Jenkins, Mumford and Richardson

Nays: 0 – None

Absent: 1 – Ruffner

Motion declared carried.

Mayor Nichols looked for approval of the minutes of the March 27th, 2023 City Council Special Meeting.

Alderman Jenkins motioned approval of the minutes of the March 27th, 2023 City Council Meeting, seconded by Alderman Mumford. Upon roll call the vote was:

Ayes: 5 – Wilson, Jenkins, Mumford, Richardson and Williams

Nays: 0 – None

Absent: 1 – Ruffner

Motion declared carried.

Officers Reports:

Clerk Mumford presented March 2023 Bills Paid for approval in the amount of $673,788.33.

Alderman Richardson motioned approval of the March 2023 Bills Paid, seconded by Alderman Jenkins. Upon roll call the vote was:

Ayes: 5 – Jenkins, Mumford, Richardson, Williams and Wilson

Nays: 0 – None

Absent: 1 – Ruffner

Motion declared carried.

Clerk Mumford presented the March 2023 Treasure’s Collection Deposit Report in the amount of $668,853.22 for approval.

Alderman Jenkins motioned approval of the March 2023 Treasurer’s Collection Deposit Report, seconded by Alderman Wilson. Upon roll call the vote was:

Ayes: 5 – Mumford, Richardson, Williams, Wilson and Jenkins

Nays: 0 – None

Absent: 1 – Ruffner

Motion declared carried.

Attorney Willenborg presented Ordinance #532: License Agreement with Self Revocable Living Trust for approval. After discussion Mayor Nichols looked for a motion for approval.

Alderman Mumford motioned approval of Ordinance #532, seconded by Alderman Richardson.

Upon roll call the vote was:

Ayes: 5 – Richardson, Williams, Wilson, Jenkins and Mumford

Nays: 0 – None

Absent: 1 – Ruffner

Motion declared carried.

Superintendent Biggs reported that the generator upgrades should be completed this week. He also said the Illinois Department of Natural Resources have delivered more trout to the Park Pond.

Chief Henderson gave his monthly activity report.

EMA Director Craig reported that EMA helped with Fridays storm, they went down to Robison to help as well.

New Business:

None

Unfinished Business:

Alderman Williams reported on the following finance committee meetings: 3/22/2023, 3/23/2023, 3/27/2023 and 3/29/2023. They are continuing work on Fiscal Year 24 Appropriations.

Alderman Reports:

Alderman Mumford wanted to remind everybody to vote tomorrow.

Alderman Richardson thanked all the utility workers, and wished everybody good luck with the upcoming election.

Alderman Jenkins said he was appreciative of all our city departments and utility workers.

Alderman Wilson, had a question on the livestock ordinance. Asked about the trash behind the golf course road apartments. And said she was very thankful for our generators.

Mayor Report:

Mayor Nichols thanked the finance committee for their continued work on appropriations.

There was no further Business of the City Council for the April 3rd, 2023 Council Meeting.

Alderman Wilson motioned to adjourn, seconded by Alderman Jenkins. Upon roll call the vote was:

Ayes: 5 – Williams, Wilson, Jenkins, Mumford and Richardson

Nays: 0 – None

Absent: 1 – Ruffner

Motion declared carried.

Adjournment of the City Council was at 6:40 p.m.
