Q4 2022 Recap: 1 parolee from Shelby County convicted of crimes involving weapons set for release

There was one offender convicted of a crime involving one or more weapons living in Shelby County released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the East Central Reporter.

The data shows the released offender was a man. He was convicted in 2020 when he was 34 years old. He is now 36.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The following table shows how many offenders convicted of crimes involving weapons were paroled during the fourth quarter of 2022 in each Illinois county.
