Q2 2022 Recap: 1 parolee from Clay County convicted of crimes involving weapons set for release

There was one offender convicted of a crime involving one or more weapons living in Clay County released on parole during the second quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the East Central Reporter.

The data shows the released offender was a man. He was convicted in 2019 when he was 69 years old. He is now 72. He was a veteran.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
