Q4 2021 Recap: 2 parolees from Coles County convicted of sex crimes set for release

There were two offenders convicted of sex crimes living in Coles County released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2021, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the East Central Reporter.

The data shows both of the released offenders among the parolees were men. The median age of the parolees sentenced for sex crimes was 55. The younger parolee was a 54-year-old man sentenced in 2005, and the oldest was a 56-year-old man sentenced in 2013.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Darrell Beck. He was convicted in 2013 when he was 46 years old. He is now 56.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The following table shows how many offenders convicted of sex crimes were paroled during the fourth quarter of 2021 in each Illinois county.
