Q4 2021 Recap: 2 parolees from Coles County convicted of crimes involving alcohol set for release

There were two offenders convicted of crimes involving alcohol living in Coles County released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2021, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the East Central Reporter.

The data shows both of the released offenders among the parolees were men. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes involving alcohol was 63. The younger parolee was a 62-year-old man sentenced in 2021, and the oldest was a 64-year-old man sentenced in 2019.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Joe D. Daily. He was convicted in 2019 when he was 60 years old. He is now 64.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
