Q4 2022 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Clay County?

There were four offenders living in Clay County released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by East Central Reporter.

The data shows three men and one woman were released in Clay County. The median age of the parolees was 35. The youngest parolee was a 24-year-old man sentenced for a financial crime or fraud in 2022, and the oldest was a 41-year-old woman sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2022.

The offender incarcerated the longest was Matthew R. Brown. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2021 when he was 37 years old. He is now 38.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the fourth quarter of 2022 in each Clay County.
