Q1 2022 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Effingham County?

There were six offenders living in Effingham County released on parole during the first quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by East Central Reporter.

The data shows five men and one woman were released in Effingham County. The median age of the parolees was 30. The youngest parolee was a 27-year-old man sentenced for a sex crime in 2019, and the oldest was a 34-year-old man sentenced for a crime against justice in 2020.

The offender incarcerated the longest was Callow B. Miles. He was convicted of a property crime in 2017 when he was 25 years old. He is now 30.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter of 2022 in each Effingham County.
