New Business
1. Discussion on possible downtown projects. The village will be resurfacing several parking lots; welcome center, behind IGA, and over by the lodge. Jeremy Hale reported the committee working on the wall/ project by the tracks has been meeting and still working on developing their plans. Other ideas discussed included seasonal food trucks, parking, other outdoor events, and possibly covering the gazebo parking lot for entertainment/ events. Stephanie reported that they are working on adding electricity and working on the area where the phonebooth used to be. Rod talked about the replacement of the lights that are downtown and possibly painting those poles. He also mentioned plans are being developed for the sign at the elementary school and the area a and the area around it, more details to come.
2. Discussion on the Sesquicentennial events. The ideal plan would be for area organizations to lead an event/ activity. Eli is working on the idea of having more of Noel Dicks book printed and available for sale. There were lots of discussions around ideas for events, what would draw people, Grand Marshall ideas, and getting people to volunteer. Mark suggested looking into an "influencer" to help promote. Everyone was tasked with continuing to think of ideas and work on a list of potential volunteers. Rod reported we are still waiting to hear from the State on the grant that we applied for to help with funds for the Sesquicentennial. Another meeting has been scheduled for February 27 at 6:00pm to continue these discussions.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:11
