Marshall Community Unit School District C-2 Board of Education Athletic Committee Jan. 12.
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
l. Call to Order
II. Public Comment
III. Addition of a HS Physical Education Teacher position w/ a focus on Strength & Conditioning Administration discussed and recommended the addition of this position with the intent of getting and experienced teacher and coach in the high school.
Status regarding on staff and off staff coaches was shared.
Audience members Ryan Arthur, Brent Compton, and Tiffany Setzer were asked if they had additional thoughts.
Ryan Arthur shared how it would be a benefit to all athletes and other students.
Brent Compton shared that it would be beneficial to athletes and regular ed students as an outlet for energy. He also suggested the need for a mentoring program for our coaches.
Tiffany Setzer shared that it was a beneficial idea.
IV. Facilities
a. McNary Basketball Scoreboards
Quotes were shared for replacing the McNary Basketball scoreboards as was the need to get them ordered due to lengthy delivery times.
b. McNary Foyer Updates to Trophies, Plaques, Athletic Memories
The video board in McNary hallway is up and running.
c. Hornbrook/Varsity SB Field / Bush Field Fencing
Plans for replacement fencing in these spaces beginning this summer are being made with the help of a $50,000 maintenance grant.
