Aaron Del Mar recently spoke at the Edgar County Republicans Lincoln Day Dinner.

Several celebrations were done during Lincoln Day which Edgard County Republicans and Caroll County Republican Central Committee took part in.

“Thank you so much to the Edgar County Republicans for having me as their keynote speaker for their Lincoln Day Dinner!” Del Mar said on Facebook.

The Edgar County Republicans Lincoln Day Dinner is an annual event. This year’s program included the following quote from President Abraham Lincoln. "You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot help the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by encouraging class hatred. You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than you earn. You cannot build character and courage by taking away a man's initiative and independence. You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves."

Del Mar is a former candidate for lieutenant governor. He currently serves as Palatine Township Republican Chairman. According to his website, service to the community has always been a driving force for him. 'In 2009 Aaron was elected as the youngest and first minority councilman for the Village of Palatine. He serves as a Fire Trustee for the Palatine Township Rural Fire Protection District.' Del Mar was appointed to the Illinois International Port Authority by then-governor Bruce Rauner for a 3-year term and was confirmed by the Illinois State Senate. His appointment was also approved by the Democrat Chicago Mayor at the time, Rahm Emanuel.

Dell Mar was born and raised in Palatine. He attended District 15 schools and graduated from Palatine High School in 1996. "Aaron returned home upon earning a degree in Public Management from Indiana University and an MBA Essentials Certificate from the University of Illinois to start a small business and a family.  Aaron and Sara call Palatine home and are proud parents of six children who are active in the community, attend local schools and play multiple sports.  As a community volunteer, Aaron has devoted his time as a substitute teacher, room parent, and coach for his children’s football, wrestling, softball, and basketball programs,” his website reads.

Del Mar was also the keynote speaker at the Carroll County Republican Central Committee Annual Lincoln Day Dinner “Had an amazing time as Keynote Speaker at the Carroll County Republican Central Committee Annual Lincoln Day Dinner! Thank you Tony McCombie for inviting me to speak! Great to see so many strong conservatives together for a great night!” Del Mar said on Facebook.
