Flora Community Unit School District 35 Board of Education met Aug. 15.

Call to Order: 5:30 p.m.

Ron & Rebecca Closson talked to Board about athletic absence policy.

1. Motion Dunahee, seconded by Wiley, to approve the Consent Agenda: Minutes of the previous meeting, July 18, 2022, Bills, Approval of Activity Account Statements, Treasurer’s Report, Approve the overnight trips for girls’ tennis to Morton, IL August 19th and 20th and Edwardsville September 2nd and 3rd. Roll call: Unanimous

UNFINISHED BOARD BUSINESS

Recognized Bobbi Powless- Boys Tennis, Bass Club Tyler Conrad, Ty Leak, Tyler Heurman for qualifying for State last year.

1. Motion Porter, seconded by Brooks to approve the tentative budget and to set September 19, 2022 during the regular Board meeting as the date for the public hearing on the budget. Roll Call: Unanimous

2. Motion Wiley, seconded by Leib, to approve the revised staff assignments for the 2022- 203 school year. Roll Call: Leib, yes; McCoy, yes; Wiley, yes; Cook, yes; Brooks, yes; Dunahee, yes; Porter, yes.

4. Committee Reports: Superintendent Hackney highlighted committee dates for the 2022- 2023 school year.

5. Administrator Reports:

Mrs. Pearce/Carder: Open House 8/16, Pre-K Screenings 8/15 and Open House is 8/22 and Start 8/23. Building is looking great.

Mrs. Leonard:. Baseball/Softball has started games and Open House is 8/22/ PBIS 8/26 and Building is looking great.

Mr. Pearce: Scheduling wrapping up this week Open House is 8/22.

Mr. McNeely: Fall sports practices have started and sign for fieldhouse being created updating sing for fieldhouse and concession/scoreboards for gym will be installed in September.

Hackney-Thanks were expressed to the custodial and maintenance staff for all of their hard work in the summer cleaning, Registration and teacher induction was highlighted/Teacher In-Service was highlighted.
