Neoga District Library Board of Trustees met July 26.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Board Members present were Barb Titus, Stacy Gresens, Elaine Edwards, Jenny Ballinger, Gene Creek, Linda Page, Paul Schabbing, Mary Ann Wilson, Bookkeeper, Christy Baker, Librarian.

- Jenny Ballinger called the meeting to order at 7:03 pm. Gene Creek made a motion to approve the minutes from the June 28, 2022 meeting and Elaine Edwards seconded the motion. Motion carried.

- Treasurer’s report was presented by Mary Ann Wilson. In it, she reported that there was a renewal of a CD for 20 months at 1.29 percent at Washington Savings & Loan. Motion carried 7 yeas.

- Mary Ann explained that under the listing 203 of the Add-Ons for June, Micro Marketing Audiobooks payment was divided into $575.35 and $462.65. The reason for this was that some of the money came from the Per Capita Grant money and the rest was from the “End of Year” funds.

- Motion was made to pay the bills for July 2022, by Stacy Gresens. Seconded by Elaine Edwards. Motion carried 7 yeas.

- Christy Baker presented the librarian’s report. In it she tells the board that a secretary’s audit needs done by two board members. Those board members will be Jenny Ballinger and Linda Page. She advised that Ashley Ewing was selected to be the newly hired library clerk. Christy said she would call the other interviewees and let them know about the selection of Ashley Ewing.

- Christy Baker also reported that the board needs to discuss pay of the three clerks with the new minimum wage requirements to take effect in January. Gene Creek made the motion to pay Ashley $12, give Linda & Connie $1.00 raise. It was seconded by Elaine Edwards. Motion carried 7 yeas.

- Saturday, Sept.3 (For Labor Day Holiday). Barb Titus made the motion to give staff the date off and Stacy Gresens seconded. Motion carried.

- Christy Baker told the board that a quote was obtained by Seward Masonry for tuckpointing the building at the estimated cost between $10,000 to $14,000. Christy is seeking quotes from Kross Masonry and T&T Tuckpointing, as well.

- Gene Creek made a motion to adjourn at 8:40 p.m. Elaine Edwards seconded it. Motion carried.
