Neoga District Library Board of Trustees met June 28.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Board Members present were Barb Titus, Stacy Gresens, Elaine Edwards, Jenny Ballinger, Gene Creek, Linda Page, Paul Schabbing, Mary Ann Wilson, Bookkeeper, Christy Baker, Librarian.

- Jenny Ballinger called the meeting to order at 7:00pm. Gene Creek made a motion to approve the minutes from the May meeting and Stacy Gresens seconded the motion. Motion carried.

- Treasurer’s report was presented and there were no questions. Jenny Ballinger made a motion to file it. Motion carried.

- Motion was made to pay the bills for June 2022, by Elaine Edwards. Seconded by Gene Creek. Motion carried.

- Christy Baker discussed Summer Reading Program. Cumberland County 4H wants to have a scavenger hunt. A $150 donation was made to the library for Summer Reading from Sarah Bush Lincoln.

- Christy Baker told the board that Varner & Rawlings cleaned the AC unit at the library.

- Christy Baker told the board that Jason Lee was there to trim out the window and back door.

NO OLD BUSINESS to discuss

NEW BUSINESS

- End of the year budget was discussed. Money that isn’t spent will go into a reserve. The board agreed to buy audio books, videos and supplies for cleaning.

- Also discussed was the 2022-2023 working budget. The budget was increased for CIPS Bill. Motion was made by Elaine Edwards and seconded by Barb Titus. Motion carried with unanimous vote.

- The board heard that money from memorials have accumulated over several years. Funds will be used to pay for large print books.

NEW BUSINESS, con’t.

- Library clerk Pam Guy resigned due to an upcoming knee surgery.

- Jason Lee has worked around the building. He reported some tuckpointing is needing done. In 2008, the same work cost $4,000. The library will be getting quotes for tuckpointing again.

- A motion was made by Gene Creek to adjourn the meeting at 7:20, which was seconded by Paul Schabbing.
