City of Tuscola Public Library Board met June 21.
Here are the minutes provided by the board:
I. Call to Order-
a. Joan called the meeting to order at 6 pm
II. Board Members Present: Deb Follett, Kyle Ogden, Joan Sutherland, Bill Englehardt, Kate Moody, Diane Kauffman and Devin Black, Librarian
III. Consent Agenda
a. Approval of minutes-May 17,2022-there were no additions or corrections
b. Approval of Expenditures-May 16,2022-June 20, 2022. Devin reviewed the bills in the amount of $5288.91 and asked if there were any questions
c. Through May 31st, 8% of the fiscal year has elapsed, 6.55% of the budget has been spent.
d. Joan asked for a motion to approve the Consent Agenda. Bill made the motion, Diane seconded, motion carried
IV. Reports
a. Librarian’s Report-Program participants FYTD 824, CI Living Upcoming appearances July 19th, August 23rd and October 4th. 100 participants for story times, 2 for Chess Club, 3 for Film
Discussion, 7 for Travel Club, 4 for Crafters Corner and 275 for the outdoor movie. Summer Read theme is Read Beyond the Beaten Path. Two more movies will be shown for the Summer Outdoor Movies: Jungle Cruise and Sing 2 on the 3rd Friday of July and August.

V. Old Business
a. Little Free Library-Rotary has agreed to sponsor in conjunction with their 100 year anniversary, Devin will approach the City for approval of placement at Festival Corner and Bob Pierce will build it
b. Cards for Kids-Devin noted that we have had cards issued under the new program
c. Summer Read-100 kids have signed up, 25 teens and 49 adults
VI. New Business
a. Elevator Inspection-scheduled for July 28th
b. Outdoor Movies-July and August will be Jungle Cruise and Sing 2 unless Lightyear is released early. Several groups and businesses have offered to help with the 2 remaining movie nights
VII. Adjournment
Kate made a motion to adjourn, Bill seconded, motion passed, meeting adjourned. Next meeting will be Tuesday, July 19th per our usual practice.
