City of Tuscola Tourism Board met June 21

City of Tuscola Tourism Board met June 21.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The meeting was called to order at 8:30 am. In attendance: Drew Hoel, Randy Hastings, Michelle Black, Donna Kidwell, Devon Flesor Story, Stacey Rae, Alta Long and Anna Nelson. 

Drew presented the minutes of the May 17, 2022 meeting. Randy motioned to approve the minutes as presented and Michelle seconded the motion. All were in favor of the motion and the motion passed. 

Devon motioned to approve the bills lists from 5/13/22-6/17/22 in the amount of $1,262.78. Michelle seconded the motion. All were in favor, motion passed. 

Old Business: 

Alta showed the board the latest website update to the board. Cybernautic has completed the chamber directory and it's now ready to add information. Alta said they plan to start working on SEO for the website next. 

Anna shared the Sparks in the Park schedule of events. She was excited to share that many events are returning this year including 3 on 3 basketball, 5K, and mud volleyball. They had a new addition to the schedule a 3 on 3 soccer tournament. Anna also said they will have several food vendors as well as pony rides. The Kitchen Band and Community Band will play in the afternoon. 

The first outdoor movie night was this past Friday. Michelle shared with the board that 260 attended the movie and many more enjoyed the games and bounce houses before the movie. They had several organization participate, including Kiwanis, Rotary, Do Co Health Department, and Miss Tuscola. Next movie night will be July 15 and they are planning a touch a truck event. 

New Business: 

Miss Tuscola is planned for August 6 at the Community Building. The Miss T Queens will be sending out donation requests this week.. 

Stacey shared she had several vendors drop out at the last minute for their Vendor Blender event. Unfortunately, they did not have a good turnout for their event. She thought it might be a busy weekend with Father's Day. 

Randy motioned to adjourn the meeting and Drew seconded. All were in favor, motion passed.
