Eastern Illinois track & field had three student-athletes earn USTFCCCA All-Academic honors while both the Panther men's and women's programs earned team All-Academic honors. The three athletes recognized were Riley Baker, Lindsey Carlson and Akiya Kollore.
To be recognized as a Scholar-Athlete a student-athlete must have advanced to either an NCAA Regional during the outdoor season or ranked in the Top 96 in the NCAA in their event during the indoor season while maintaining a 3.25 or higher cumulative GPA.
Baker competed in the 400 meter hurdles at the NCAA West Regional placing 31st at the event. He holds a 3.92 GPA in Teacher Education and was named an OVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year for 2021-22.
Carlson competed in the 10,000 meter run at the NCAA West Regional placing 35th in the event. She holds a 4.0 GPA in the master's program in dietetics and was named a second team Academic All-American this year by CoSIDA.
Kollore competed in two events at the NCAA West Regional finishing 29th in the 100 meter hurdles and 46th in the 200 meter dash. She holds a 3.41 GPA in psychology.
Both the EIU men and women were honored with USTFCCCA Team All-Academic awards. The men posted a team GPA of 3.0 while the women had a cumulative GPA of 3.54. To be recognized a team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher.
