Census Bureau reports Shelby County population was 21,623 in 2020

Shelby County had a population of 21,623 people in 2020, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the East Central Reporter.

The median age was 45, with 50.9 percent of the total population being female and 49.1 percent male.

The state's total population in 2020 was 12,716,164.
