Arcola City Council met March 21.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor Garza called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Members present were Alderpersons Hensley, Smith, Garza, Becerra and Budd. City Administrator Wagoner and Treasurer Anderson were also present. Alderman Foran and Attorney Bequette were not present.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Alderman Hensley led the council and audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.

PUBLIC COMMENT There was none.

APPROVAL OF MARCH 07, 2022 COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

Alderman Budd moved to approve the March 07, 2022 council meeting minutes as presented and was seconded by Alderman Garza. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

APPROVAL OF MARCH 05, 2022 THROUGH MARCH 18, 2022

Alderman Smith moved to approve the March 05, 2022 – March 18, 2022 bills as presented and was seconded by Alderman Becerra. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

REPORT FROM THE TIF ADVISORY COMMITTEE

The TIF Advisory Committee met March 16th, reviewed and recommended the council approve a request from Arcola Fire Protection District for assistance for eligible costs related to the District Ambulance facility project. Recommended a rebate of $75,000 to be paid in $10,000 annual installments with a $15,000 final payment. Alderman Smith moved to accept the recommendation of the TIF Advisory Committee and was seconded by Alderman Budd. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

REPORT FROM THE TOURISM ADVISORY COMMITTEE

The Tourism Advisory Committee met March 17th reviewed and recommended the council approve requests totaling $10,558.78 from Arcola Beautification Committee, Amish Heritage Center and Arcola Chamber of Commerce. Alderman Budd moved to accept the recommendation of the Tourism Advisory Committee and was seconded by Alderman Hensley. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

CONSIDER AND APPROVE RESOLUTION NO. 22-R-6, A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A SERVICE AGREEMENT WITH THE LOWEST RESPONSIBLE BIDDER FOR THE SUPPLY OF ELECTRICITY FOR RESIDENTIAL AND SMALL COMMERCIAL RETAIL CUSTOMERS WHO DO NOT OPT OUT OF SUCH SERVICE

Alderman Budd moved to approve Ordinance No. 22-R-6 and was seconded by Alderman Garza. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

Alderman Hensley Had nothing at this time.

Alderman Smith Had nothing at this time.

Alderman Garza Had nothing at this time.

Alderman Becerra Had nothing at this time.

Alderman Budd Ask if there is a plan in place to keep park clean? Bill stated that we have part-time employee that will work on that. Mayor Garza commented that Libman’s baseball team in willing to help with it also.

As this concluded the business of the meeting, Alderman Hensley moved to adjourn and was seconded by Alderman Becerra. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

Adjourned at 7:14 p.m.
