Arcola City Council met Feb. 7.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor Garza called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Due to COVID 19 the meeting was  held at the Arcola Center. Members present were Alderpersons Becerra, Budd, Foran, Hensley,  Smith and Garza. City Administrator Wagoner, Treasurer Anderson and Attorney Bequette were  also present. 

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Alderman Becerra led the council and audience in the  Pledge of Allegiance. 

PUBLIC COMMENT There was none. 

APPROVAL OF JANUARY 03, 2022 COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES Alderman  Garza moved to approve the January 03, 2022 council meeting minutes as presented and was  seconded by Alderman Budd. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried. 

APPROVAL OF DECEMBER 31, 2021 THROUGH FEBRUARY 04, 2022 BILLS  Alderman Foran moved to approve the December 31, 2021 – February 04, 2022 bills as  presented and was seconded by Alderman Hensley. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried. 

APPROVAL OF THE TREASURER’S REPORT FOR JANUARY 2022 Alderman  Becerra moved to approve the Treasurer’s report for January 2022 and was seconded by  alderman Budd. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried. 

APPROVAL OF THE JANUARY ZONING OFFICER’S REPORT The Zoning  Officer reported 1 permit issued in the month of January with valuation of $7,200 and a fee in  amount of $25 collected. Alderman Foran moved to approve the January Zoning Officer’s report  as presented and was seconded by Alderman Smith. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried. 

PRESENTATION BY PAT MONAHAN Pat Monahan presented a miniature replica  of the Ben Franklin with broom statue that will be ready to install in a month to six weeks.  

CONSIDER AND APPROVE AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT  BETWEEN DOUGLAS COUNTY, THE CITY OF ARCOLA AND THE CITY OF  TUSCOLA, ILLINOIS FOR WATER MAIN PROJECT Alderman Hensley moved to  approve an Intergovernmental Agreement between Douglas County, The City of Arcola and the  City of Tuscola, Illinois for water main project. Alderman Foran seconded the motion. Roll call  vote, all ayes. Motion carried. 

CONSIDER AND APPROVE MORTGAGE RELEASE FOR PARIS MACHINE  CO. – INDUSTRIAL REVENUE BONDS (LOAN) 1983 Alderman Foran moved to approve  mortgage release for Paris Machine Co. – Industrial Revenue Bonds (loan) paid off in 2003.  Alderman Becerra seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

CONSIDER AND APPROVE RESOLUTION NO. 22-R-2, A RESOLUTION  DECLARING A SURPLUS OF FUNDS TIF #1 -- $119,459.69 Alderman Budd moved to  approve Resolution no. 22-R-2 and was seconded by Alderman Garza. Roll call vote, all ayes.  Motion carried. 

CONSIDER AND APPROVE RESOLUTION NO. 22-R-3, A RESOLUTION  DECLARING A SURPLUS OF FUNDS TIF #6 -- $110,622.99 Alderman Garza moved to  approve Resolution No. 22-R-3 and was seconded by Alderman Hensley. Roll call vote, all  ayes. Motion carried. 

COMMITTEE REPORTS 

Alderman Becerra Had nothing at this time. 

Alderman Budd Had nothing at this time. 

Alderman Foran Thanked Gary and crew for good work cleaning  streets during snowstorm and reminded people to  remove vehicles from snow routes. 

Alderman Hensley Had nothing at this time. 

Alderman Smith Had nothing at this time. 

Alderman Garza Had nothing at this time. 

As this concluded the business of the meeting, Alderman Hensley moved to adjourn and  was seconded by Alderman Becerra. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
