Arcola City Council met Dec. 20.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor Garza called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Due to COVID 19 the meeting was held at the Arcola Center. Members present were Alderpersons Hensley, Smith, Garza, Becerra, Budd and Foran. City Administrator Wagoner, Treasurer Anderson and Attorney Bequette were also present.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Alderman Hensley led the council and audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.

PUBLIC COMMENT

There was none.

APPROVAL OF DECEMBER 06, 2021 COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

Alderman Garza moved to approve the December 06, 2021 council meeting minutes as presented and was seconded by Alderman Budd. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

APPROVAL OF DECEMBER 04, 2021 THROUGH DECEMBER 17, 2021 BILLS

Alderman Foran moved to approve the December 04, 2021 – December 17, 2021 bills as presented and was seconded by Alderman Hensley. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

CONSIDER AND APPROVE ORDINANCE NO. 21-Z-6, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CLASSIFICATION FOR ZONING OF 117 AND 125 N WALNUT (R-4 MULTI-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL TO B-1 COMMERCIAL)

Alderman Smith moved to approve Ordinance No. 21-Z-6 and was seconded by Alderman Becerra. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

CONSIDER AND APPROVE RESOLUTION NO. 21-R-8, A RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE REVIEW AND RELEASE OF EXECUTIVE SESSION MINUTES AND THE DESTRUCTION OF EXECUTIVE SESSION AUDIO RECORDINGS

Alderman Budd moved to approve Resolution No. 21-R-8 and was seconded by Alderman Hensley. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

CONSIDER AND APPROVE A SALARY INCREASE FOR ALLY WISE

Alderman Foran moved to approve a salary increase for Ally Wise in amount of $ .75 additional starting 1st pay period in January. Alderman Becerra seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

CONSIDER AND APPROVE THE COMPLETION OF THE PROBATIONARY CONTRACT FOR CHIEF SUDING

Alderman Smith moved to approve the completion of the probationary contract for Chief Suding and increasing salary to $60,000. Alderman Garza seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

CONSIDER AND APPROVE SALARY INCREASE FOR PART-TIME CITY EMPLOYEES

Alderman Foran moved to approve salary increase for part-time city employees in amount of $ .50 per hour starting 1st pay period in January. Alderman Hensley seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

CONSIDER AND APPROVE SALARY INCREASE FOR FULL-TIME CITY EMPLOYEES

Alderman Becerra moved to approve salary increase for full-time city employees in amount of $1.00 per hour starting 1st pay period in January. Alderman Garza seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Alderman Hensley Had nothing at this time.

Alderman Smith Reported the Police, Ordinance & Enforcement Committee met prior to this meeting and went into executive session (5ILCS 120/2c).

Alderman Garza Had nothing at this time.

Alderman Becerra Had nothing at this time.

Alderman Budd Had nothing at this time.

Alderman Foran Had nothing at this time.

City Administrator Wagoner reported that we received notice from the Dept of Transportation that the 1st part of our truck route grant has been approved so we have $109,200 for the Libman Truck program. Will be receiving notice on the 2nd part and 3rd part is a grant from DCEO. Also stated the requested proposal for the Metropolitan Block is completed and will go out tomorrow.

As this concluded the business of the meeting, Alderman Hensley moved to adjourn and was seconded by Alderman Garza. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
