Report: Stewardson-Strasburg School District spent $8,874 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Stewardson-Strasburg Community Unit School District 5A was down 4.7 percent from five years ago, according to the East Central Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Shelby County school district spent $9,314 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $8,874 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 343 to 387 students over the same period.

Stewardson-Strasburg's spending in 2019-20 was 38.8 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
