Report: Shelbyville School District spent $9,376 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Shelbyville Community Unit School District 4 was up 14.1 percent from five years ago, according to the East Central Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Shelby County school district spent $8,219 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $9,376 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 1,208 to 1,190 students over the same period.

Shelbyville's spending in 2019-20 was 35.3 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
