CENTRAL A&M MIDDLE SCHOOL
On November 11, we celebrated our Veteran’s with a ceremony and luncheon, and a day of activities for our students. Thank you to all of the veterans who attended our celebration of Veteran’s Day. Mrs. Koonce, Ms. Manuel, and Mr. Ludwig coordinated a perfect plan of activities! Thank you to Assumption Fire Department for performing the bell ceremony honoring the 100th Anniversary of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Thank you to Bob Dondeville for sharing his story and artifacts. Thank you to our panel of veterans for speaking with our students and answering questions. Thank you to Sally Sloan and her team for preparing a delicious meal for our veterans. Thank you to Kim Hilton for creating a beautiful dining experience! Thank you to the Bond teachers for coordinating the making of placemats and wonderful decorations! Thank you to WAND for joining us and sharing our story! This is a memorable day for our Raiders. It means so much to all of us to see the community and school come together to create this experience. It takes a village, and we have the best! Last month our MS band and chorus performed for family and friends at the Fall Music Concert. They did a beautiful job! Well done, Mr. Elam and Mr. Parker!
Mrs. Jordan took our MS and HS Eco meet teams to competition in October. The MS team finished 7th out of 20 teams!
Girls’ basketball has celebrated 8th grade night, and they are playing their last three regular season games this week. Next week starts regionals.
Boys’ basketball is underway, the 7th grade played for the championship in the Pana tournament, losing to a tough Shelbyville team. They have won their last two home games. Girls’ volleyball signups are starting, practice will begin at the end of the month. October 22nd, the students at Central A&M were able to listen to and learn from Mr. Richard Hight through his presentation "The Art of Inspiration". Our Raiders watched as he created amazing pieces of art for our buildings, while delivering a very important message. Some of the take-aways from today were "what makes you different makes you great", "you are responsible for your own actions", "know your uniqueness, turn it into value, and serve it to as many people as you can". Mr. Hight shared his own story of finding his gifts, and he introduced us to his wife, Marti, and daughter, Avery, who also shared their gifts with us. We all had a wonderful experience!
October 25-29 will be Red Ribbon Week. At school, students will engage in activities that promote a drug free and healthy lifestyle. The theme this year is “Planting Hope for Our Future.” Please partner with us and discuss this message at home, at the dinner table, at family outings, and with friends and extended family.
