Arcola City Council met Oct. 4.
Here are the minutes provided by the council:
Mayor Garza called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Due to COVID 19, the meeting was held at the Arcola Center. Members present were Alderpersons Smith, Garza, Becerra, Budd and Hensley. Alderman Foran was not present. City Administrator Wagoner, Treasurer Anderson and Attorney Bequette were also present.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Alderman Smith led the council and audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.
PUBLIC COMMENT There was none.
APPROVAL OF SEPTEMBER 20, 2021 COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
Alderman Hensley moved to approve the September 20, 2021 council meeting minutes as presented and was seconded by Alderman Smith. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF SEPTEMBER 18, 2021 THROUGH OCTOBER 01, 2021 BILLS
Alderman Becerra moved to approve the September 18, 2021 – October 01, 2021 bills as presented and was seconded by Alderman Hensley. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF THE TREASURER’S REPORT FOR SEPTEMBER 2021
Alderman Becerra moved to approve the Treasurer’s report for September 2021 and was seconded by Alderman Budd. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF THE SEPTEMBER ZONING OFFICER’S REPORT
The Zoning Officer issued no permits in the month of September.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE ORDINANCE NO. 21-Z-5, A VARIANCE FOR 299 EGYPTIAN TRAIL ROAD FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF AN ADDITION WITH A NON-CONFORMING SIDE SETBACK
Alderman Smith moved to approve Ordinance No. 21-Z-5 and was seconded by Alderman Garza. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE ORDINANCE NO. 21-C-3, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 15 OF THE ARCOLA MUNICIPAL CODE – REGULATION OF RESIDENTIAL FOOD AND BEVERAGE SALES
Alderman Budd moved to approve Ordinance 21-C-3 and was seconded by Alderman Hensley. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE TRICK OR TREAT HOURS
Alderman Budd moved to approve Trick or Treat hours to be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on October 31st. Alderman Garza seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
There were no committee reports.
As this concluded the business of the meeting, Alderman Becerra moved to adjourn and was seconded by Alderman Budd. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
