Recently issued the following announcement.

What's happening in September at Paris Public Library? View this email in your browser Paris Public Library will be closed on Labor Day (Sept. 6) and Honeybee Festival Saturday (Sept. 25).

Leslie Goddard's performance as Amelia Earhart that was to have been on Sept. 16 has been postponed. It will be rescheduled, probably sometime in the spring.

Masks must be worn in the library again, in keeping with the statewide mandate that began on Aug. 30.

Curbside service is still available for anyone who doesn't want to come inside.To request items, call 217-463-3950 while the library is open or email, message us on Facebook, or use your SHARE library account.

You will be notified when your items are ready. Call us when you park in library lot. If you don’t have a mobile phone, tell us that when we call you so we can make other arrangements to know when you arrive. Your items will be brought to your vehicle.

Curbside also works for printing and faxing, too. Ask us.

Shakespeare in the Park is back!

In Stone Soup Shakespeare's 2021 Tour of Hamlet, a decadent party swirls around the prince as he encounters ghosts, wrestles with his inner demons, and seeks revenge for the mistakes of the past generation. With music, puppets and a sword-less sword-fight, join us as Hamlet explores a young person finding his way in a dangerous world.

Public performances begin Sept. 8 in Southern Illinois and continue through October 15 when they'll be in Indiana. The performance at Twin Lakes Park (near the pavilion) in Paris is at 6pm on Saturday, Sept. 18. Run time is approximately 95 minutes with no intermission.

Please bring a chair or blanket when you come, a picnic if you wish, and your wonderful selves as we return to live performance, storytelling and togetherness. While all performances are outdoors, please bring a mask to use when in close proximity to those not in your audience bubble out of respect for everyone's needs and comfort at this moment in time.Senior BINGO returns Wednesday, September 22, at 11:00AM.
