The Illinois Broadband READY group continues to make good progress under Booth Library’s leadership. Chris has been recruited to join ILA’s Advocacy Committee. Summer Read planning is going well, and the dates for this year’s Summer Read are May 31 – July 25. Chris has applied for the first round of reimbursement for the Back to Books grant. The Library received a payment of replacement taxes.
6. Discussion Item
A. Reopening the Library
The Library has seen a continued increase in patron activity over the last month and Chris believes it is time to expand the Library’s operating hours. The Library’s new hours will be Monday – Friday 10AM – 6PM, Saturday 10AM-2PM, and Sunday 1PM – 5PM. Included in this expansion, the Board agreed to reopen the Rotary Rooms and Conference Room for public reservation, rescind the time limit placed on patrons visiting the Library, return limited seating throughout the building, and to maintain the No Food or Drink policy for the time being.
