The Illinois State Board of Education’s 'Culturally Responsive Teaching and Leading Standards’ is anti-parent, according to state Rep. Chris Miller (R-Oakland).

“What they're trying to do is to control the information that is being taught to your children,” Miller said in a virtual discussion. “The information that they're wanting to disseminate is countercultural. It's against all ... the foundations that we have been taught, with patriotism, with right and wrong, with all the issue, all the things that we grew up with and all the things that have made America great — they're trying to destroy that."

Miller encourages others to continue opposing the bill.

“It's really important that there's a major pushback on this bill.”

“They’re trying to reshape world view because whoever controls information controls what you think,” Miller continued. “Books are silent teachers and what you include or exclude determines the issues."

He thinks that the new set of standards that would take effect in 2025 would “formulate a politically correct worldview that is shaped on lies rather than the truth.”

“They’re trying to teach our kids that religion is hate. That the United States is a racist, evil country; that climate change is the greatest threat to mankind. That’s a snapshot of what they’re trying to infiltrate into these young minds.”
