Rep Mary Miller (R-Illinois) is dismissing reports that her husband, state Rep. Chris Miller (R-Oakland), was involved in the infamous Jan. 6 Capitol riots that left five dead and scores injured.
Videos reportedly show Chris Miller in Washington on Jan. 6, and a truck linked to him was parked sporting The Three Percenters decal there. Mary Miller said he had nothing to do with the riot that played out that day.
“He attended with constituents,” Mary Miller said in a Capital Fax report. “It never crossed his mind once to be violent. We don’t advocate violence. We stand for rule of law, and anybody that was violent or broke the law should be arrested and prosecuted, but he had nothing to do with that.”

State Rep. Bob Morgan (D-Highwood) isn’t so sure. The Democrat filed a House resolution condemning Miller and alleges he violated his oath of office.
Thirty-five Democrats have signed onto the legislation, including newly-installed Illinois House Speaker Emanuel “Chris” Welch (D-Hillside).
“Miller participated, and publicly promoted his role, in a rally that led to a violent insurrection of the Capitol of the United States of America, which resulted in the death of United States citizens, including members of law enforcement,” Morgan said, Capital fax reported.
Mary Miller dismissed the state Legislature resolution as just more targeting of conservative figures.
“The attack is not just on him or on me, but it’s on all of my colleagues, we are all getting vile, vile messages and death threats,” Miller said. “They’re misrepresenting and lying about us, taking things out of context.”
