Arcola City Council met Dec. 21
Here is the minutes provided by the council:
Mayor Ferguson called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Members present in council chambers were Alderpersons Huckstep, Hensley and Foran. Alderpersons Smith, Ferguson and Budd were present virtually. City Administrator Wagoner was present in council chambers and Attorney Bequette was present virtually.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Alderwoman Huckstep led the council and audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.
PUBLIC COMMENT There was none.
APPROVAL OF DECEMBER 07, 2020 COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES Alderman Foran moved to approve the December 07, 2020 council meeting minutes as presented and was seconded by Alderman Hensley. Roll call vote, Huckstep, aye; Smith, aye; Hensley, aye; Ferguson, abstain; Budd, aye; Foran, aye. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF DECEMBER 05, 2020 THROUGH DECEMBER 18, 2020 BILLS Alderwoman Huckstep moved to approve the December 05, 2020 – December 18, 2020 bills as presented and was seconded by Alderman Hensley. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE ORDINANCE NO. 20-Z-5, AN ORDINANCE REZONING LIBMAN PARCEL Alderman Foran moved to approve Ordinance No. 20-Z-5 and was seconded by Alderman Hensley. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE RESOLUTION NO. 20-R-15, A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING TIF FUNDS ASSOCIATED WITH THE ENGINEERING REPORT FOR THE METROPOLITAN BLOCK Alderman Smith moved to approve Resolution No. 20-R 15 and was seconded by Alderwoman Huckstep. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE PURCHASE OF A TRUCK FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT Alderman Foran moved to waive formal bids and approve purchase of a truck for the public works department. Purchase is a 2021 Nissan Titan in amount of $28,931 from K. C. Summers. Alderman Smith seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Alderwoman Huckstep Did not have committee report but stated someone had contacted her about possible problem with renters parking on E. Main.
Alderman Smith Had nothing at this time.
Alderman Hensley Reported the Municipal Building & Grounds Committee met prior to this building and discussed the salvaging of materials from
Emporium. Agreement was made to allow this in a timely manner.
Alderwoman Ferguson Had nothing at this time.
Alderman Budd Had nothing at this time.
Alderman Foran Had nothing at this time.
Mayor Ferguson wished everyone a Merry Christmas!
As this concluded the business of the meeting, Alderwoman Huckstep moved to adjourn and was seconded by Alderman Foran. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
