City of Flora issued the following announcement on Jan. 29.
The City of Flora, Clay County, Il is submitting an application for financial assistance to USDA Rural Development to replace the existing wastewater treatment plant with a new plant that will include headworks with automatic screen and grit treatment, excess flow treatment, Biocos Treatment System, tertiary treatment, aerobic digestors, screw press, biosolids storage, four new buildings, UV disinfection, ferric chloride injection, excess flow disinfection, and neat polymer with activation system. This will lead to a projected capacity of 1.0 MGD. In addition, the WWTP will be designed to treat excess flows up to 10.0 MGD.
