City of Mattoon issued the following announcement on Jan. 2.
Lets see those beautiful quilts. Hang them outside, snap a picture and send it to the Mattoon Arts Council. We will assemble them into an album on Facebook. There is simply too much talent in this community to hide it! So show us your quilts on Hang a Quilt Day January 6th. Email us the photo by January 8th. Any questions can be sent to tourism@mattoonillionis.org or call us at 217-258-6286. Quilts do not have to be newly made or adhere to a theme.
