City of Mattoon issued the following announcement on Dec. 5.
The City of Mattoon is accepting applications for a new Wastewater Treatment Plant Superintendent. Ten years of Water and/or Wastewater Treatment Plant experience are required. A Class I Wastewater Treatment Operators License is required. Supervisory experience is preferred. Potable Water Treatment experience is also a plus.
The Wastewater Treatment Plant is rated for an average dry weather flow of 5.3 mgd, and a peak wet weather flow of 14 mgd. The staff includes 1 Lead Operator and 4 Operators. The plant is manned 10 hours/day, 7 days per week. The Superintendent has primary on-call responsibility after hours. The Lead Operator shares part of the on-call duty. The salary range is $65,000 to $75,000 DOQ.
