City of Olney issued the following announcement on Nov. 14.
Olney City Clerk Kelsie Sterchi would like to remind citizens that nominating petitions for Council and Mayor positions can be filed with her beginning November 16, 2020, at 8:00 a.m. Daily filing hours will be 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., but on the final filing day, November 23, 2020, hours will be extended until 5:00 p.m. All filings will take place at the front counter in the Office of the City Clerk, Olney City Hall, 300 S. Whittle Ave., Olney, IL. In City Clerk Sterchi's absence, Deputy City Clerk Cindy Harlan will be available to receive nominating petitions.
Nominating forms will continue to be available through November 23, 2020. A total of 20 signatures are required to complete the petition for nomination.
The Consolidated Primary Election, if necessary, will be held on February 23, 2021. The Consolidated Election will be held on April 6, 2021.
